NATIONAL PRIMARY ON THE SAME DAY
What a great and wonderful system of elections we had in our nations history. The elections taking place in different states gave the candidates the time to travel from state to state and give there reasons why we should vote for them. While this was a necessity in the past, technology has changed and now this primary system is working against us instead of for the people it suppose to serve.
We have heard people say that they are voting for the lesser of two evils, and we fume when a RINO wins the primary. We are sick of the lawyers (liars) always getting elected and wonder why an ordinary person with convictions and talents is not elected. One of the reasons we don't get this chance is because we the people start to rationalize on the candidates and we vote for a candidate that is really not our best and first choice.
How could this happen? The incumbent has a leg up on their competion. He's a rerun that has a system in place with contacts in the party that want to make brownie points. So the challenger is fighting an uphill battle, on top of that the incumbent has a well oil fund raising system in place that funnels money to the state where there is a challenge.
The plan is to bring his entourage and strategist and focus his money and energy on that one or two states. If he can hedge out the competion this will give him momentum in the next primary. He does the same thing in the next state and let's say he wins there also. Wow, now you start to look at the slate of candidates again and you start to say, if I vote my candidate and he doesn't win that means that the worse of the three candidates could possibly win this state. So you vote for the lesser of two evils because your candidate didn't show well in the last state.
Let's look at how we could change this senerio so that we don't keep getting these career politicians, an example would be Bob Dole and John McCain. Both men are career politicians, have no vision and they don't rally the people. When the general election comes around the people stay home. But here is the solution, modern technology gives these candidates the opportunity to get their message out a year before the primaries begin. They can travel to the states where they feel they need to focus. They can do all things that candidates do to get elected but then election day arrives and the people from all over America get to vote for the candidate they really want without second guessing. In one day of elections we have our candidate.
But the establishment system probably doesn't like this. They will have a harder time of manipulating the elections, they can't be everywhere at once. It will give us a more level playing field and we will end up with better representatives of the people.
Another benefit to a one day primary would be the media. It would cut down on the medias influence in the election where they are predicting the outcome, discouraging people from going to the polls. Your candidate has lost in the last couple of primaries so why vote, we hear this all the time.
I would encourage you to contact your congressman and senators and tell them to change the primary to a one day primary all over America. You can also draw up a resolution to be given at the precinct convention and then on to the county and then the state and finally to the national convention.
You have a voice and you have the power to impact your nation. To do it you have to start talking and moving this issue into the public arena.
